UAB and UAB Medicine employees will receive extra holidays at the year’s end.
In addition to the standard holidays observed on December 25 and January 1, 2026, the following dates have been designated as additional paid holidays:
- Employees in Workgroup A and non-clinical F will observe closures on December 24, 26, and January 2, 2026.
- Employees in Workgroup C and clinical faculty will observe closures on December 26 and January 2.
Essential employees of UAB Hospital, UAB Police, UAB Call Center, and units who receive personal holidays instead of designated holidays will have additional holiday hours credited to their holiday banks. Employees in these areas are encouraged to consult with their supervisors regarding staffing and scheduling expectations.
As with all UAB holidays, most campus operations will be suspended, but essential services will continue. UAB’s holiday schedule is available online.
