FAQ: Time Off Request (TOR) Status Definitions


This guide explains the meaning of each status you may see when managing or viewing Time Off Requests (TOR).


Status

Definition

What it means for you

Submitted

Employee has submitted a TOR for approval but the supervisor has not actioned the request yet.

Awaiting supervisor review.

Approved

Employee has submitted a TOR for approval and the supervisor has approved the request.

Time off is officially approved.

Refuse

Employee has submitted a TOR and the supervisor has refused the request.

Time off is not granted.

Cancelled

Employee has submitted a TOR and decided to cancel the request before it is actioned by the supervisor.

Request withdrawn before review.

Cancel Submitted

Employee has submitted a TOR for approval, the supervisor has approved the TOR but the employee now wishes to cancel the TOR and the supervisor has not actioned the Cancel request, it will show as Cancel Submitted.

Cancellation request is awaiting supervisor review.

Cancel Approved

Employee has submitted a TOR; the supervisor has approved but the employee now wishes to cancel the TOR; once the supervisor has approved the employee’s cancelled request, it will show as Cancel Approved.

Time off request is fully canceled.

Cancel Refused

Employee has submitted a TOR, the supervisor approved the request; but the employee now wishes to cancel the TOR and the supervisor refuses to cancel the TOR, it will show as Cancel Refused.

Original approved time off remains in effect.

Pending

Employee has submitted a TOR and the supervisor is not prepared to action the request at the present time, so they mark it as pending, it will show as Pending.

Request is on hold until further review.
