Frequently asked questions for UAB Perform.
Evaluations
What are the different types of goals?
When adding goals to an evaluation, you may select between two different types:
- Development Goals: Development goals are activities that will add to the employee’s ability to perform their job more effectively and/or prepare them for additional responsibilities. Development goals relate to training, learning, skill building, or other aspects of professional or career development.
- Performance Goals: Performance goals relate to productivity, accountability, assignments, or other aspects of work performance.
I submitted my evaluation. Can it be reopened for me to make changes?
Yes, evaluations can be reopened to correct errors or mistakes (such as forgetting to add goals) by emailing performance@uab.edu. If the supervisor has already submitted their portion of the evaluation, they must be copied on the reopen request.
Human Resources does not reopen evaluations to add additional commentary after the performance conversation or respond to supervisor assessments/ratings.
How do I know if my evaluation is complete?
An evaluation has been completed if both the employee and the supervisor have signed the evaluation. To check whether this has been completed, login to UAB Perform and view the progress tracker on the home screen.
