What happens after TRS receives my Retirement Application?

Once Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) receives your retirement application:

• Two things will be mailed your home address: 
  1. Your TRS Retirement Options 
  2. PEEHIP Medical Insurance Application. PEEHIP is medical insurance that is available to employees who service
     retire with TRS
     
     
• Schedule your second appointment with Benefits to:
  1. Explain your income options 
  2. Notarize your Retirement Options form which must be returned to TRS 
  3. Certify your PEEHIP medical insurance application (if applicable)
  4. Provide you a copy for our files
