The Employee Assistance & Counseling Center (EACC) is a resource for UAB employees and members of their immediate household. This is a free, confidential service. We have a dedicated team of certified counselors, an extensive collection of online resources and a robust schedule of programs and events.

What are the core services of the EACC?
Traditional Counseling (individual, couples and family)

Tele-mental Health/Distance Counseling

Where do we go for counseling?
Clients have the option of in-person counseling appointments at the EACC or they may choose tele-mental health/distance counseling.
How do I make an appointment?
New client? Please complete the intake paperwork posted on the EACC site. This site has additional information for new clients including confidentiality, explanation of phone intake screening and emergency resources.
Returning client?
If you have seen a counselor at the EACC within the past year and would like to see the same counselor again, you should contact the front desk at (205) 934-2281 to schedule an appointment. You do NOT have to complete new intake paperwork. New intake paperwork is only required if you would like to transition to a new counselor or different type of counseling.
How long do counseling sessions take?
Counseling sessions are generally 45-50 minutes in length and will be scheduled at an interval decided upon by you and your counselor.
