Reviewing Employee Requests

  1. When an exempt employee submits a time Off request, a notification will be sent through email to the manager and Time editors. To take action on any submitted requests, go to the My Notifications tile and click on Employee Requests..
  2. You can also get to Employee Requests by clicking the arrow at the top of the My Notifications tile.
  3. Before we look at requests, you need to be aware of changes to the deadlines for approving time off requests first.
  4. Clicking on either Employee Requests or the arrow on the My Notifications tile will take you to the Control Center.
  5. Here you can view system notifications, requests submitted by your employees, and your own time off requests. For this training, we will review employee requests only.
  6. Let's look at the action buttons across the top of the employee request page. Time off actions include Approve, Refuse, Add, Comments, Pending, Edit, Cancel, and Delete. For the most part, these actions are self-explanatory.
  7. Mark done should only be selected for fully completed requests. This will remove the request from the count that is displayed in my notifications.
  8. Clicking on Go to will take you directly to the Schedule planner, which will be discussed later.
  9. Before taking action, you need to review the details of the request. To do so, click on the request and the Details pane will be visible on the right side of the page. Open each section by clicking on the down arrow next to the heading.
  10. Click to Add notes, Review available balances, beginning and end dates, total hours requested, employee comments, and status history.
  11. Taking Action on a Request
  12. First, I want to add a comment, so I will select Add Comment from the list of actions. All comments are visible to both employees and managers. Comments are not required when submitting or approving a time off request.
  13. In the Comments box, click on Add a Comment.
  14. Select Request Comment and hit the Add button. You must add a comment before taking other actions.
  15. Action buttons will now be available at the bottom of the panel. Hit Approve.
  16. Change the filter to Approved
  17. By default, the Control Center displays only time off requests that require action or attention.
  18. To return to the homepage, click on the Home icon.
